Parents of children at a Rutherglen nursery where twisted Alexander Mortimer worked, this week reacted with fury following his sentence reduction.
Paedophile Mortimer, 28, amassed a hoard of vile child pornography and molested kids.
One mum, whose son attends the nursery, said: “I think it’s absolutely shocking. They should keep him locked away for the rest of his life.”
A dad, 45, said Mortimer took “a shine” to his three-year-old son. He said: “My son was due to go in to Mortimer’s group but we had to take him out just before that, so we were quite lucky.
“He told my wife that he thought our son was a lovely boy. I don’t think it’s right that his sentence has been reduced.”
And a grandmother of a child at the nursery said: “Eight years would never be enough for his despicable crimes but to have the sentence cut in this manner is a disgrace and an insult to parents and carers throughout the country.”
