The general framework consists of four sections, each with their own time limit: Service in the Community, Hobby/Interest, Recreational Pursuit and the Journey of Discovery.
Each discoverer will complete a set number of hours on each section, whilst progressing through three levels: bronze, silver and gold.
Activities undertaken by previous Discovery Group members include: community gardening project, mural activity, computing, boat modelling, line dancing, local history research, Center Parcs activity break and more. In addition, they proved to be a group with a prominent presence in the community.
Both groups are part of the Community Learning and Home School Partnership Service (CLHSPS).
CLHSPS provides a wide range of free learning opportunities to help adults achieve success for themselves and their communities.
The programmes take place in various locations throughout the Cambuslang and Rutherglen area and creche facilities may be provided.
