Glencairn are looking to reunite their cup heroes from 38 years ago after the current group of players made history of their own.
The Glens reached the last four of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup for the first time since 1975 when they beat Camelon 3-1 on Saturday.
And the club now want to turn the home leg of their two tie semi-final into a real celebration, aided by the men who last reached this stage of the competition.
That was in 1975 when the Glens beat Kilbirnie to reach the final, which in those days was played at Hampden.
The exact same starting XI and subs were at the national stadium a few weeks later as Glens came up just short when they lost 1-0 to an impressive Glenrothes side.
The club are now hoping the Reformer can help track down the players.
According to the Glencairn Centenary book, the team were: Tony Ward, James Speirs, Jim McManus, Mick Carracher, Alan Roberts, Brian Reid, Jim Mullaney, Ronny McDonald, Tony Dickson, John Evans, Willie Woods. (Subs - Paul McMillan, William McGranaghan).
Committee member and Reformer columist, Peter Ferguson posted on the club website: “The club will be making every effort to contact each of the players in the build-up to the match over the next few weeks to provide a personal invite.
“We anticipate, however, that some of the payers may prove to be more difficult to contact than others, so we would like clarify at this early stage that all of the players are invited, even if we are unable to make a personal contact before the day of the match.
“We are also aware that, sadly, not all of the squad are with us anymore, and our thoughts are with these players’ families and we remember their contribution to the club with grateful affection.”
The draw for semi-final has not been made yet, but Glens fans are now dreaming of lifting the trophy for the first time since 1939.
Both club president Alex McArthur and manager Willie Harvey thanked the fans who turned up on Saturday to cheer the team to victory.
Despite the poor weather, a bigger-than-average crowd braved the elements to back the boys and they are now hoping the semi-final will attract an even bigger attendance.
Alex said: “We’re absolutely delighted, it was a great victory for the boys.”
Willie said: “Considering how poor the weather was, I was over the moon with the turnout.
“Hopefully come the semi-final when we’ll be playing another big team, the weather will have improved.
“We’ll be doing everything to make it a gala occasion. The quarter final was special so we’ll need to make the semi-final even more special.”
Goals from Andy Neil, Brett Agnew and Sean McGuire saw Glens on their way to victory on Saturday.
The semi-final first leg will be played on Saturday, April 13, with the return a week later.
