She was married to Tommy who passed away five years ago. She ran the West End Tenants Association and a lunch club for the elderly.
Later on, she received an award from South Lanarkshire Council for her community involvement. In her working life, she was employed as a school cleaner at the old Gallowflat Secondary. She retired in 1989.
She was also shop steward for the National Union of Public Employees.
A staunch member of the Labour party she remained an active member right up until her death. She is survived by her children Billy, Glynis, Gordon, Margaret and Anne as well as seven grandchildren and a great grandson.
Patricia’s funeral will be held this Friday (March 15) at the St Mungo’s Chapel at the Linn Crematorium starting at 4pm.
Labour MSP James Kelly said: “This is tragic news. She will be missed.”
