His last operation was six weeks ago at Yorkhill but since being diagnosed with the cyst he has been in and out of hospitals all his life.
Lauchlan’s mum Debi was a junior member of Whitefield Bowling Club and still attends social functions. Grandfather Brian is also a member of the club.
And so the bowling club decided they wanted to raise some money for the brave youngster and held the competition, involving clubs from the area, on Saturday, September 8.
Although initially the bowling wanted to raise the money so Lauchlan could buy something, the Auchinraith Primary pupils said he wanted it to go to the charity Brain Injury Trust - a charity who to provide advice and support to families who find themselves with a child with an acquired brain injury.
And the bowling club managed to raise a whopping £2500 for the cause.
Bowling club secretary Douglas Knape said: “It was a good day and we’re delighted with all the money we managed to raise.”
Debi said: “Lauchlan enjoyed it, I was exhausted though, there was a lot of using muscles you don’t know you have!
“It’s a fantastic amount they managed to raise, it’s amazing how such a small bowling club did it. We would like to thank everyone involved.”
