Seven people have been arrested in connection with two demonstrations organised by the British National Party.
Six people were arrested for public order offences at an "Alliance of Nationalists" demonstration in Buchanan Street, Glasgow, according to a Strathclyde Police spokeswoman.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man was charged with breach of the peace at a BNP rally in Dalkeith Country Park, Midlothian.
BNP leader Nick Griffin and 20 supporters gathered to protest against the rehoming of rapist Robert Green in the community.
Green was dubbed "The Da Vinci Code rapist" as his attack took place near Rosslyn Chapel, which features in author Dan Brown's popular book.
His return to Midlothian after serving his sentence has been the subject of a long-running protest by some members of the local community.
Around 30 people gathered around Dalkeith Country Park to protest against the BNP's presence.
Lothian and Borders Police said "an extensive police operation" was put in place to minimise disorder and maintain public safety
Superintendent Phil O'Kane said: "Today's police operation was centred on keeping our communities safe, providing reassurance and keeping disruption to a minimum.
"I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and co-operation, particularly with regard to the temporary traffic restrictions that were put in place as a result of today's activity."
