Pedestrian killed in crash named

A pedestrian who was killed while crossing a road in Greenock has been identified.
James McEwan, 56, died after he was struck by a car as he crossed Inverkip Street on Wednesday.
He was hit by a black Peugeot 407 which was travelling southbound at around 6.10pm.
He was taken by ambulance to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock but died several hours later.
The driver was uninjured.

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal and police are still appealing for witnesses.
