Man arrested over woman's death

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of an elderly woman. Kathleen Milward, 87, was found dead at her home in Brodie Place in Stonehouse, Lanarkshire, at about 8.30pm on Wednesday January 3. Strathclyde Police said a 40-year-old man has been arrested and detained in police custody in connection with the death. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. He is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
