Apology demand over death comments

17:25, Mar 14 2010

First Minister Alex Salmond has been urged to apologise to the grieving family of a young Labour activist after a key SNP member circulated "disgusting" speculation about his death.

Danus McKinlay, 18, who suffered from diabetes and asthma, collapsed and died earlier this month. His death is thought to have been caused by a serious underlying health condition.

Mr McKinlay, a friend of former Glasgow Council leader Steven Purcell, was laid to rest on Friday.
