The Falls of Clyde Reserve is situated in the historic village of New Lanark.
This breathtaking reserve, home to ancient woodland and a spectacular array of wildlife, can be found along both sides of the Clyde Gorge.
The reserve takes its name from the river flowing through the gorge, which runs over a series of four spectacular waterfalls, at a drop of over 150ft.
Visitors can expect to see woodland enriched with the sounds of birds, and the beauty of wild flowers and butterflies.
The open meadows and pathways are ideal spots to catch glimpses of badgers, foxes and deer, whilst otters, fish and kingfishers make the river their home.
During the Spring and Summer months, the Falls Of Clyde offers an unsurpassed opportunity to view peregrine falcons, bats, owls, deer and insects with organised evening strolls.
One important thing to remember is that rigorous walks of between 30 - 40 minutes may be required for some expeditions, so wear sensible footwear.
