QUEEN’S Park are looking to boost their league status with three victories in seven days.
The Spiders recorded a 1-0 win at home to Brechin at the weekend and as the Reformer went to press were scheduled to travel to Central Park to take on Cowdenbeath on Tuesday evening, and then face Alloa on Saturday.
The side know that two further victories this week could put them in a relatively comfortable position.
Gardner Speirs’ side were also boosted by the news that Berwick had beaten Cowdenbeath on Saturday making their result over Brechin even more important.
Queen's gaffer Gardner Speirs was delighted with the way his side picked up the three points.
He said: "We played some smashing football and also defended well in the second half.”
The side must however, remember they are only two points clear of second bottom battlers Cowdenbeath and need a victory in Fife before facing a tough game against Allan Maitland’s fourth placed Alloa.
Speirs added: “We’re going into Tuesday night’s fixture in Fife with a positive spirit.”
Elsewhere, Queen’s striker Robert Dunn is optimistic the side can survive if they continue to show the same fight that beat Brechin, in their last eight games of the league campaign.
Dunn scored the the only goal of the game seven minutes from half time and reckons the Hampden Park battlers have every capability .
He said: "It was a good time to score as we were a bit backs-to-the-wall after the break. “We've got to take our undoubted ability along with battling qualities into every game.
“If we continue to do that we'll be alright."
Meanwhile, the game with Cowdenbeath, postponed on Saturday, March 8, will now take place on Tuesday, April 1.
