The Waterwheel restaurant in Biggar is a superb place to sample some of the finest Scottish food in Lanarkshire.

On the second floor of the 19th century Culter Mill, the restaurant boasts good food and brilliant service.

A typical three-course meal at the Waterwheel might comprise of a seafood starter of mussels, salmon and prawns in a chive cream sauce.

Scottish salmon in prawn cous cous or beef fillet in mushroom sauce with rice for the main course and caramelised bread and butter pudding with fresh cream for dessert.

The restaurant, situated above a bistro, serves lunch from 12 and dinner from half past six and has a four-course Table d'hôte menu.

This restaurant has a splendid variety of tasty Scottish food on offer and with a three-course meal at around £20 it's affordable too.
