JOHN McCormack admits he’s getting used to knock-backs in his desperate pursuit for new players. The Rovers boss has been busy since the end of the season and has been at dozens of amateur and juniors games in a bid to unearth some hidden gems. He has yet to close out a deal but remains confident he’ll get the necessary men on board. He said: “I’ve had more knock-backs than you’ve had on the dance floor. “I’ve been speaking to lots of players but we are not in a position to offer them terms they can’t turn down. At this stage it’s just a matter of being patient and waiting to see what develops. “One or two have been positive and I’m sure things will start to take shape. “I’ve been at lots of games. My wife says she’s looking forward to the season starting so I’ll be able to spend time with the kids again.” Rovers have home matches against Hamilton and Clyde on July 15 and July 22 respectively. They will also visit the North of England to take on Tow Law Town (July 18) and Spennymoor United two days later. Meanwhile, Ciaran Donnelly is thinking over the offer of a new contract. |
