AN AIRDRIE voice coach is holding a concert in a bid to raise cash to send a local girl to Zambia for project work. Danusia Zaremba, of Cairnhill, is helping Airdrie Academy pupil Laura Robertson (15) raise £30,000 for the trip. The concert is being held on June 22 in St Andrew’s in the Square, Saltmarket in Glasgow at 7.15pm. Former backing singer Danusia, who has toured with Hue & Cry, Horse, Texas, Hipsway, Deacon Blue, Donnie Munroe, and Lulu said: “We are looking for a sponsor for the concert and if any local companies out there would like to then please get in touch with me.” Tickets are priced £12.50 from Danusia at 01236 769625 or Danusia.sing@ blueyonder.co.uk Laura has also fundraised by abseiling at the Falkirk wheel. Danusia, who has trained many pop recording artists and has produced music for major record labels, spent several years performing as a professional singer and voice coach, refining vocal techniques and teaching tricks of the trade to help get quick results (PDA Coaching and Teaching) She also works in production with singers and producers during recording sessions, assisting with vocal arrangement, harmonies, and vocal dynamics. One of Danusia’s pupils, Kayleigh Anderson (13), who attends Airdrie Academy, won a place at the Dance School of Scotland. Her mum, Lesley said: “Kayleigh was one of six youngsters out of 46 children who were accepted. “Her dancing was great but she needed help vocally to get through and that’s where Danusia came in.
